Comet Hops
Comet Hop Profile
Despite its USDA release in 1974 and decline in the 1980s, Comet splashed back onto the scene in the 2010s as brewers rediscovered its well-rounded flavor profile. Comet is zesty with grapefruit and tangerine, rounded out by unique lemongrass and herbal elements — often described as “wild American.” Comet’s unique aroma produces one-of-a-kind beers, proving that some classics are worth rediscovering.

COMET HOP SUBSTITUTIONS
Comet is an older hop that is well known for its "wild American" flavor and often used for bittering American-style lagers. Columbus and Centennial both carry bittering characteristics that make them suitable substitutes for Comet.
